The muslin is noticeably softer than the cotton burp cloths I used with my first baby, and it soaks up spit-up without feeling damp against my shoulder. After a month of near-daily use it's holding up well.
I've washed this thing at least ten times and it somehow keeps getting softer. The muslin is thick enough to actually catch spit-up instead of just smearing it around, which honestly surprised me.
The muslin is so breathable and lightweight that it drapes perfectly over my shoulder without slipping off, and the blue blossom print hides spit-up stains way better than my plain white ones. I've washed it at least a dozen times and it's still just as soft, no pilling or fraying edges.
